Ms. Ruth Abanga is a distinguished expert with extensive experience in environment and natural resource sustainability, development and corporate communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate governance, and business ethics. She has a strong track record in advancing sustainable development in Ghana through strategic initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy.

As an Executive Member of the Association of Association of African Sustainability Practitioners, Ms. Abanga is dedicated to shaping sustainability policies, fostering industry collaborations, and driving impactful initiatives that promote responsible business and general practices.

In her role at GRIDCo, she plays a pivotal role in corporate sustainability and stakeholder engagement, spearheading high-impact programs that enhance sustainability, strengthen corporate branding and stakeholder relationships, and support science education.

She is also the Founding President of the Association of Professional Development Communicators-Ghana, an organization committed to promoting development communication, building capacity, advocating for development issues, fostering collaboration, encouraging behavior change, and leveraging diverse communication techniques to address development challenges in Ghana and beyond.

Beyond the corporate sector, Ms. Abanga is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate for ethical business practices. She has successfully trained, nurtured, and mentored numerous young professionals and women in skills development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable business.

She holds:

→ A postgraduate degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
→ A Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Development Studies (Environment and Resource Management option).
